Terms and Conditions

Selmeier Home & Care LLC
Effective Date: 07/22/2025

1. Scope of Services

Selmeier Home & Care LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”) provides non-medical in-home services, property care, family assistance, and hospitality-related offerings in the Greater La Quinta area and surrounding cities. Services are provided exclusively under the terms outlined below.

1.1 Service Packages Include:

  • In-home personal assistance (non-medical)

  • Home maintenance tasks (non-licensed repairs under $500)

  • Light household duties (cleaning, organizing)

  • Child and senior companionship

  • Garden and yard maintenance

  • Cooking of fresh meals in the client's home

  • Property checks for seasonal or vacation homes
     

1.2 What’s Included:

  • Labor/working hours only (as per the selected service package)

  • Cleaning supplies

  • Mileage and transportation within service zones (up to 25 miles per visit)
     

1.3 What’s NOT Included:

  • Purchase of food, groceries, home goods, plants or repair parts

  • Materials (e.g., for repairs or maintenance)

  • Specialized or licensed work (e.g., plumbing, electrical beyond general maintenance)

  • Medical care of any kind (including administering medication or medical transport)
     

2. Add-On Services (Optional Upgrades)

The following services may be requested for an additional fee:

Add-OnDescription Fee

Extra working hour: Added on-demand labor per visit $45/hour

Meal cooked on-site (per portion): Includes meal preparation and time for shopping $50/portion

Lawn & garden maintenance: Mowing, trimming, watering$80–120/month

Weekend or holiday service: Appointments outside regular weekdays+20–30% surcharge

All add-ons must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability.


3. Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide a safe, respectful working environment

  • Ensure access to the home/property at scheduled times

  • Notify Selmeier Home & Care at least 24 hours before canceling or rescheduling

  • Pay invoices on time as outlined in section 6
     

4. Liability & Limitations

Selmeier Home & Care will provide services with due care and diligence. However:

  • We are not liable for pre-existing damages, electrical faults, plumbing failures or any issue outside the scope of agreed work.

  • We do not guarantee outcomes of repair work beyond reasonable effort (particularly with aging systems or surfaces).

  • No liability is assumed for theft, injury, or accident arising from pets, hazardous environments, or unapproved tasks.

Clients must notify Selmeier Home & Care of any hazards (e.g., pests, broken floors, mold, pets with behavioral issues).
 

5. Insurance

Selmeier Home & Care carries general liability insurance. However, clients are responsible for:

  • Securing homeowner’s insurance

  • Informing us of valuable or fragile items

  • Removing personal belongings from areas being serviced
     

6. Billing & Payment

  • Monthly service packages are billed at the start of each month

  • Add-ons are invoiced separately or added to the following month's bill

  • Payment due within 7 days of invoice date

  • Accepted payment methods: credit/debit card, bank transfer, check, or approved digital payment

Late payments may result in:

  • Suspension of services

  • Late fee of $25 or 5% of the overdue balance, whichever is greater
     

7. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Services may be canceled with at least 7 days’ notice

  • No refunds for unused service hours (hours can be rescheduled within the same billing cycle if availability permits)

  • Add-on services are non-refundable within 24 hours of scheduled appointment
     

8. Termination

Selmeier Home & Care may terminate services:

  • For non-payment

  • Repeated cancellations or reschedules

  • Unsafe or disrespectful client conduct

Clients may terminate their agreement with 14 days’ written notice unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
 

9. Changes to Terms

Selmeier Home & Care reserves the right to update these terms with 30 days’ written notice. The most current version will always be available on our website.
 

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed and interpreted under the laws of the State of California.
